Get Your Craft On Las Vegas

Glass Craft & Bead Expo 2013

Despite the fact that technology has seemingly got our backs when we get bored, there are still plenty of people out there who like to find amusement within arts and crafts. Hey, some people rely on video games and computers... others sometimes prefer the old fashioned 'do-it-yourself' method and create something with their own two hands.

Either way, arts and crafts is something technology can't really ever replace. It can't really be 'arts and crafts' if there isn't any imagination or creativity put in it, right?

Like most hobbies out there, there are some who are outstanding in what they do... others just need a little bit more practice. Luckily for any arts and crafts fans out there, the fabulous city of Las Vegas is making way for a show dedicated to one of the many categories of crafts. During the days of April 3rd until the 7th, Las Vegas is welcoming the Glass Craft & Bead Expo 2013 to the South Point Casino and Spa.

The Glass Craft & Bead Expo 2013 is the bees knees for anyone interested in this type of crafting. For the past 7 years, the show has been coming to the South Point, and attracting many, many people from all over the world.

What for? Well, the expo floor provides the 9,000 expected attendees the top of the line and latest, most innovative products out on the market. The expo also provides over 250 specialty classes in the glass craft field, as well as countless types and colors.

Anyone most certainly interested bead and glass crafting, whether it be for personal satisfaction or gaining advice in order to make profit from this hobby, should consider attending. The Glass Craft & Bead Expo 2013 is not something to miss, especially if you take glass crafting super seriously.

So come on down during early April and give the show a try! No matter what, there isn't anything to lose. Just tips, tricks, and products to provide plenty of personal gain.

Living in Las Vegas

Does it Kill the 'Vibe'?

It is quite hard to picture such an 'adult playground' like Vegas being the home to a couple hundred thousand people. What? Vegas is sustainable for life? Believe it or not, people do actually live there. I'm sure many people given the opportunity to live there would be fairly excited. In a fast-paced world consisting of all-you-can-eat buffets and endless activities, who could even imagine being bored?

Well, for locals, it does happen. Most locals are familiar with the city scene, and its effect on people. The locals who keep their smarts about city life are the most successful. By successful, I mean they aren't a drug and/or gambling addict who lost everything, and now live under the freeway. It's quite a sad fate most naive Las Vegas locals face, but its rather expected.

This all seems like common sense to most people I assume or more rather, hope so. Street smarts, homie. So what would these 'successful' locals do for fun in the city that never sleeps? Imagine that, the city of Las Vegas at your fingertips. With the right connections and cash amount, just about anything is possible. The world is now your playground.

This is all fine and dandy, yes, but after a while it becomes an ordinary thing. I mean after a while, wouldn't Las Vegas boulevard lose its magic? Wouldn't the noises of the city just turn into background noise? Yes. Yes it does.

Don't get me wrong, most folks enjoy the sights of the city, but locals tend to just go about their daily lives... and somehow surviving the harsh Nevada summers. Local families seem to enjoy more 'recreational' activities, and live a fairly normal life. Especially after living in a 'not-so-normal' environment.

There are others though, who like anyone anywhere else, are looking for their break to leave the area. Sometimes Vegas isn't a suitable place for families with kids, especially with Vegas being obviously 'adult themed'

Not only that, but the city's crime rates are pretty damn high. Hell, I wouldn't want to raise any kids there myself! The city life isn't for everyone, and living in an environment such as that kind of takes away from the magic of the city.

Tourists are lucky I suppose. They only have to deal with Las Vegas for a short time, and hopefully aren't too terribly down on their luck during the stay. But in all honesty, if anyone is going to decide and call Las Vegas a home, they should make sure and do their research a bit first. Sometimes the fast-paced lifestyle is a little too fast-paced.

Now for Some Real Mortal Kombat - Las Vegas Style

2013 American Tae Kwan Do Association/West Coast Tournament

Everyone has some form of interest in martial arts... or even to be a ninja whether they think so or not. I mean, really, who wouldn't want to be like Bruce Lee and fly kicks through the air? Or like Jackie Chan and even put a comical spin on putting hurt on any henchmen. Why not even go for the 'Karate Kid' style and 'wax on/wax off'?

With so many different forms to choose from, martial arts are absolutely an interesting and active art form. Not everyone has to be into the 'art' in order to appreciate it. Some people like to rent movie after movie with bad language dubbing and everything.

Others want something more real, such as a tournament. It is like being in the middle of the action without having to be in the middle of it. Best of both worlds, right?

Well for those who are fans of Tae Kwan Do in the Las Vegas area, you all are in luck. The 2013 American TaeKwon Do West Coast Tournament is coming to the Las Vegas strip on the 15th of this month until the 18th to the famous Las Vegas Convention Center.

Now you have the option to see the action up close and personal. With 5,000 expected attendees, the Tae Kwon Do tournament surely will not disappoint. The Tournament features some of the best students from a variety of schools respectively sparring against each other. What a sight to see!

If you are an avid martial arts fan, or even if it spark your interest, why not come on down and take a peek at the tournament? And what better place to be in other than Las Vegas for all this fun and excitement? I mean, that is where all the fun and excitement truly is, right?

I enjoy being with gentlemen who like to make a real connection. The kind of men who never say no when a new adventure presents itself. Are you open minded enough to fit this description? I am your passport to the world beyond the "Las Vegas Strip". I consider it a great honor when someone chooses to call me for an appointment. See you soon?

The Struggle With Gun Laws:

Are We Really That Irresponsible? by Paulette Thomason

So I've noticed all the talk lately in the news on gun control and gun laws. Back and forth Americans argue on the subject. Settling this subject isn't as easy as it may seem to some. In fact, if you really do your research and look at both sides with an open minded, logical approach, you'll come to see the choice isn't so easy after all.

With all the unnecessary and violent shootings happening lately, it seems like gun control might not be such a bad idea. I mean, it is pretty lame to pay $20 for a movie ticket and end up being shot up instead. Or an even better example, the guy who pulled off the elementary school shooting in Connecticut and killed a group of innocent kids? These are horrible events that sadly occur, but it wasn't ever the guns fault, now was it? It was the deranged or misunderstood man or woman behind it.

That's completely stating the obvious, I know, but bear with me here. For some strange reason, backgroundchecks don't seem to be too terribly effective with weeding out the mentally unstable. Why? I dunno, but either way these people keep getting a hold of guns and committing mass murders. Then again, the internet might be at service for these social maniacs.

Anyone in this day and age know that you can get just about anything over the internet, as long as you know where to go and how to play your cards right. I'm willing to bet that guns are one of the easiest things to purchase online. Give it a try and look for yourself, there are plenty of firearms for fairly low prices. And obviously, the people selling these weapons aren't quite as capable of making background checks on their customers.

Guns aren't a bad thing though, they just get used in horrid situations by mentally unstable people. If used in a 'right sense', guns can play a valuable part in saving a victims life. I don't think many can argue there. I'd choose my life over someone who was attempting to do harm, wouldn't you? It seems fair for 'stable' people who want to protect themselves or their loved ones shouldn't have to work so hard for a simple defense.

Maybe we just are too indecisive at the moment to make further progress in this debate. Neither side can 'agree to disagree', nor can they come up with a seemingly 'fair' compromise.
